Our Southampton Branch was formed in 1936 – closed during World War 2 and then re formed in 1949.
In 1950 members began a D-Day tapestry which was unveiled in 1953. It was housed in the Bargate Museum for many years but that museum closed and the tapestry is now in Southampton Civic Centre on the wall outside the Archive Office.
Southampton Branch continues to hold coffee mornings and afternoon teas once a fortnight. We all enjoy each other’s company and with an average of 6 members at each meeting, we are very happy to carry on as we are, but would welcome new members.
